Makerspace
A recent addition to our library is the new Makerspace! What is a Makerspace? According to Laura Fleming (2015), author of Worlds of Making: Best Practices for Establishing a Makerspace for Your School, a Makerspace is an area:
"...where learners have the opportunity to explore their own interests, to tinker, create, invent, and build, using the widest variety of tools and materials" (Fleming, 2015, p. 2).
Though it just recently opened, students have already been busy creating and having fun in the Makerspace. Several students participated in making ornaments for the library's Christmas tree. Mrs. Korn's class enjoys engineering marble runs. Take a look below:
